Decision guide
How to choose the correct certificate
Is the kitchen permanently installed?
A permanently installed commercial kitchen normally follows the CP42 route.
Can the catering unit be moved?
Food trucks, trailers, vans and other genuinely mobile units normally follow the CP44 route.
What fuel is used?
Natural gas or LPG may be used in fixed premises. Mobile units are commonly supplied by LPG cylinders.
Is the setup temporary or semi-permanent?
Temporary cabins, event kitchens and semi-permanent units may need individual assessment before booking.
Fixed kitchens using LPG
LPG does not automatically mean CP44
A fixed commercial kitchen may use LPG cylinders or a bulk LPG supply and still follow the CP42 route. The installation type and how the premises operate remain important.

Some setups need individual assessment
Temporary kitchens, semi-permanent trailers, cabins, containers and converted structures may not fit neatly into a simple fixed-or-mobile description. Confirm the arrangement before booking.
